Recap of Mandeville Market (guest post by hubby)

I guess you could call this a "guest post" from Haley's Husband. Haley is currently driving to Waco Texas for her sister's wedding on Saturday. She has done a lot of amazing crafts for that wedding that hopefully she will do tutorials on in coming weeks. In the mean time I thought you might like an update on some of the crafty things that she has been doing lately. Especially since some of you may be visiting this site in reference to meeting her at a recent craft fair, or the hardware store. She seems to make friends everywhere she goes :) 

Yesterday (Saturday Oct 10) she attended the Mandeville Trailhead Community Market. This is her first Farmers market/street fair in a while. My posts aren't typically as orderly or aesthetically crafted as hers, so I'll just leave you with a few pictures and a few words until her next post, or you run into her at another market.

These are a variety of doors, windows and assorted salvaged wood that we have found around New Orleans. If you request a specific image in advance Haley can have it ready at an event or sell it to you online through her ETSY shop. Otherwise stop by her next booth and she can often make one on the spot; she always has her laptop and vinyl cutter with her, though her selection of colors may be limited to black and white.

To be perfectly honest I'm not entirely sure what to call these beaded beauties. They are wall hanging Fleur De Lis made out of wood and glass and porcelain. She also makes crosses and other shapes that you may have seen around. She sold a lot of them when we lived in Boise and Texas, and these are the first she's made since we've moved to Louisiana. These are my favorite thing that she makes (possibly with the exception of cookies!), but they are VERY labor intensive so she doesn't usually make very many of them, and at your typical craft fair the price of $125-$150 for the large ones can startle some people.

This is the first time that she has sold her cookies or bow ties, though I don't know why. They are amazing, and she has been making them for a while for friends and family. The Halloween sign is based off of a 6 foot version she made for our house last year and received a lot of compliments on.
